As a GZ-psychologist, I focus on creating a safe space where people can explore what is going on within them, what they long for, and how they can work toward that in a purposeful way. My approach is based on the principles of solution-focused thinking, where the emphasis is on what someone hopes to achieve.
After completing my studies in Clinical Psychology, I worked as a residential support worker in psychiatry from 2001 onward. From 2008, I worked as a psychologist in care for people with an intellectual disability, where I specialized in attachment and mentalization. Between 2017 and 2020, I further trained as a GZ-psychologist with a specialization in child and adolescent psychology, and since 2021 I have been working as a GZ-psychologist for adults. Because of my broad experience, I am able to connect well with people from diverse backgrounds, and I am not easily surprised by what someone brings into the conversation.
Clients experience me as warm, empathetic, and open. I listen carefully and am willing to reflect things back when needed. In my way of working there is room for creativity, humor, and lightness, because these can sometimes touch something essential or help initiate movement and change. Reliability on both sides forms an important foundation for a safe and respectful collaboration and effective treatment.
In my free time, I enjoy walking and cycling in nature, good food, and browsing in thrift stores.
